Root Xperia P (LT22i) on Jellybean 4.1.2
In this thread i´m gonna show you how to root the Xperia P (LT22i) on Jellybean 4.1.2
You need:
-a complete backup of your Xperia P
-an unlocked bootloader (how to unlock bootloader: klick here)
-PC Companion installed (get it here)
-Root checker (get it here)
Steps:
1. Make sure you unlocked the bootloader
2. Download the Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip and place it on your device’s SD card.
3. Download the Android.zip (ADB files) and unzip it´s contents.
4. Download the ThP_JB_kernel_v10.2.zip and unzip it´s contents.
5. You will find a kernel-unsigned.elf file. Place it in the folder with ADB files.
6. Turn off your Xperia.
7. Go to the ADB files where you put the kernel-unsigned.elf file.
8. Hold Shift in the folder and right click -> Open Command Promt and type the command “fastboot flash boot kernel-unsigned.elf” (without quotes)
9. Press enter in command promt and then boot your phone into fastboot mode (to do this, press and hold volume up button and connect it to USB. If you see Blue LED, your device is in fastboot mode)
10. This will give you CWM.
11. Unplug USB and reboot your phone. When you see "weird" Sony logo, keep pressing Volume down button continuously(DONT HOLD IT, PRESS IT FEW TIMES) and you will see purple LED and you are now in recovery mode.
12. In CWM, select “install zip from SD card->Choose zip from SD card” and select the zip file you placed in your SD card in Step 2.( In CMW use VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons to go "up and down"and POWER Button like "continue"
13. After you flash it, go back and select “Reboot system now”.
14. Now you should be rooted. To check it simply run the root checker app that you installed before.
